Please note that the December BARC meeting will be on the second Monday of the month and not the third which will be getting close to Christmas.
In keeping with the tradition of goodwill and conviviality to all we are inviting partners along to a meeting featuring a quiz, a non-technical talk and Christmas nibbles as supplied by yourselves. Please bring something tasty – sausage rolls, cheese, mince pies etc. Plates and cutlery provided.
The talk is will cover a little bit of history, on how thirty years ago we nearly ended up with a third ‘official’ broadcaster, namely British Satellite Broadcasting. It eventually all came to tears but along the way a vast amount of money was spent and all sorts of marketing hype thrown at an unsuspecting public. Paul G4CSD will give an insider’s view on the excitement, feuding, wild parties and eventual despair packed into three short years. As predicted, television did change forever, but not in the way it was intended!
